The Independent driving will be the only part during the test where the instructor will not instruct you on individual junctions and or directions , it will be up to you to carry this out using the road signs and / or a drawn diagram (by the examiner ) of directions of where the examiner wishes you to drive.
If at any time you are unsure what the examiner requires , do not hesitate to check what he or she wants.

While you are driving the examiner will take note of any driving faults on the driving test report form (DL25). Driving faults are categorised into minor, serious or dangerous and are recorded against the appropriate headings shown on the test sheet , Each fault is recorded by a slash in the appropriate box.

At the end of the test the examiner tells you if you’ve passed or failed, and then he will give you a debrief on your test, your instructor can be present during the debrief.
You are allowed up to 15 minor driving faults on your test , a positive guide is to aim for zero minors and no serious or dangerous faults.
